Theatre Program at SUNY Plattsburgh

Do you share with the rest of us the impulse to perform? Would you like to be part of a team that works diligently but with the greatest of delight to help others get transported to the magic world of theatrical fantasy? Or would you just like to put on a preposterous costume or get dirty backstage? If so, then we may just have the program for you.

A Program for All Students

Theatre is alive, vital and convivial at Plattsburgh State. Every year our two performing spaces are beehives of activity with productions either in preparation or in performance.

At the same time, a full compliment of classes provides training for both the serious and the casual student of acting, stagecraft and dramatic history and literature.

All productions and classes are open to all students. So whether you just have a slight interest in theatre (or a bit of ham in you) or whether you're more dedicated to it and want to join the thirty to forty theatre majors, you are very welcome to join us.

1982 Alumni Michael Rispoli Performs

Michael Rispoli, performs in Soho Playhouse as Freddy in "Magic Hands Freddy" by Arje Shaw.

Once again Michael Rispoli has a chance to show off his talent, charisma and comic skills in acting. Michael's recent performances include "See You in September," "Yonkers Joe," The Black Donnelly's," and "The Oaks," "The Weather Man," "Mr. 3000," "Invincible" and many others. He was Joey Jr in "While You Were Sleeping" with Sandra Bullock and has made several apprearances on "Third Watch," "The Sopranos," "Law & Order" and "E.R."
